Auto Repair Shops Across the Country Join Together to Put The Brakes on Breast Cancer

Auto Repair Shops Across the Country Join Together to Put The Brakes on Breast Cancer – Goal = $30,000

Auto Craftsmen is proudly supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month by participating in the Brakes for Breast campaign fundraiser where during the month of October this independently-owned auto repair shop is joining 26 other independent auto repair shops representing 16 states across the U.S. by offering their customers FREE brake pads and also donating 10% of every brake service directly to The Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Vaccine Research Fund.

The Brakes For Breasts fundraiser is different from most breast cancer fundraising campaigns which run during October because 100% of proceeds contributed by these independently-owned auto repair shops goes directly to the Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Vaccine Fund to fund research of a vaccine which will lead to a cure for breast cancer, not just treatments for the disease.

Dr. Vincent Tuohy from The Cleveland Clinic has proven that his vaccine is 100% effective in preventing breast cancer in mice. His vaccine is ready for clinical trials in humans & funding is the only thing holding it back.

Magical Moment At Miller Park Inspiration for New Children’s Book

Wisconsin Author Has Special Brewers Moment Land in Her Lap – Literally

The mom of two young girls from Waterford, Wisconsin remembers the moment as if it were yesterday. And what transpired that day at Miller Park gave Marla McKenna the inspiration to pen her new children’s book, Mom’s Big Catch, a heartwarming story of one’s family adventure at the ballpark.

The book is inspired by actual events that took place at Miller Park involving former Brewers star Geoff Jenkins’ final game as a Milwaukee Brewer in 2007. And it also gave McKenna the desire and driving passion to take that special moment and turn it into something that will not only inspire other children who attend baseball games with their parents and dream about catching that treasured prize at a ball game, but will also help raise charitable funds for a very worthy cause, the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation.

That Foundation’s mission is to ensure that every animal rescued is given a second chance at a happy life and a loving forever home. To top it off, singer, actor and best-selling author Rick Springfield will be matching McKenna’s donation. The first donation of $1000 was recently given to the Foundation.

“When Marla approached me about matching a donation for the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation,” said Springfield, “I thought about how much this would mean for the awesome dogs that Linda rescues and takes care of. It’s a great opportunity to help a fantastic organization, and Mom’s Big Catch is a very fun story for kids. I am happy to support this project.”  Read the rest of this entry

“Body Bag” (a two song release) is the first music from a new face on the rock and roll scene, 15-year old Dustin Walker. The songs were co-written and produced by Jeff Silverman. Jeff is a veteran producer, engineer, songwriter, accomplished musician, singer and music/audio editor for film and television. Dustin, who began playing guitar at the young age of five, crafted these songs drawing from his strong influences obtained from performing on stage with groups such as Grammy-Award-Winner Rick Springfield and the popular Canadian hard-core rock band Comeback Kid. The songs combine Dustin’s love for the sounds of the 1980s with a more modern twist and heavy guitar influences. Dustin credits Ronnie Grinel for giving him his first big break on stage at the age two.
