Seabourne Pictures’ First Feature Film AFTER Opens – 2012 Nashville Film Festival

Seabourne Pictures, a Franklin, TN based film company, today announced that Rick Rekedal has joined the company’s board of advisors. Rekedal is an entertainment industry veteran in his 15th year with DreamWorks Animation. In his current role, Rekedal works closely with filmmakers and marketing executives to maximize the commercial potential of DreamWorks Animation’s biggest properties. Prior to his current role, Rick held posts as head of online production, head of licensing and head of interactive, helping establish film franchises such as “Shrek”, “Madagascar”, “Kung Fu Panda” and “How To Train Your Dragon”.

“We are honored and thrilled to have Rick officially join Seabourne’s advisory board,” said Seabourne founder, Michael W. Smith. “Rick’s fifteen-plus years of experience in the motion picture industry are invaluable, and we are grateful and proud to have him come aboard as we begin to craft our marketing and distribution strategy for After.”

The advisory board’s role is to counsel Seabourne in honing its future business strategy as it relates to development, production, and release, beginning with the 2012 theatrical feature After, which will open the Nashville Film Festival on April 19.

“Ryan Smith is a rare talent, truly a complete filmmaker,” said Rekedal. “With the release of Ryan’s first film After just around the corner, I’m honored to join the advisory board at Seabourne and look forward to contributing in whatever way I can.”

Rekedal will join Michael W. Smith and Gregory Ham on the advisory board.
