A screening of all ten nominated films in the animated and live action short film categories, and a panel discussion with each group of filmmakers.
(*The streaming of this event will begin at 9:30 p.m. PT due to the length of the clips.)

DOCS! – Hosted by Oscar winner and Documentary Branch governor Michael Moore
Wednesday, February 22 at 7:30 p.m. PT
Clips from the nominated short subject and feature-length documentaries, and a panel discussion with each group of filmmakers.

ANIMATED FEATURE SYMPOSIUM – Hosted by actor Patton Oswalt
Thursday, February 23 at 7:30 p.m. PT
Clips from the nominated films and an onstage discussion with the filmmakers.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM AWARD NOMINEES SYMPOSIUM – Hosted by Oscar-winning producer and Foreign Language Film Award Committee Chair Mark Johnson
Saturday, February 25 at 10 a.m. PT
A panel discussion with the directors of the movies nominated in the Foreign Language Film category, plus brief clips from the nominated films.

MAKEUP ARTISTS AND HAIRSTYLISTS SYMPOSIUM – Hosted by Makeup Artists and Hairstylists Branch Governor Leonard Engelman
Saturday, February 25 at 2:30 p.m. PT
A discussion with the nominees, clips from the nominated films, and displays of the nominees’ work.

During the week leading up to the 84th Academy Awards® ceremony, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present five public events celebrating this year’s nominees. Oscar Week events will feature screenings, film clips and discussions with filmmakers and artists whose work has garnered nominations in the Animated Feature Film, Documentary, Foreign Language Film, Makeup and Short Film categories. All events will take place at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.
